Why should I donate to BAOBAB STRONG?
With so many excellent charities from which to choose, that is a very reasonable question. As you look over our website, we hope you’ll agree with our specific approaches to helping the impoverished, and want to join in this important endeavor.
As a new organization, we are working From the Roots Up. You would be involved in the initial stages of our work, where your support is of the utmost importance. You would have a direct connection to the projects we are undertaking.
We are made up of 100% volunteers. And with little overhead, a bigger share of your donation goes towards poverty reduction, unlike some large organizations that can waste 40% on operational expenses. We’ll strive to put every one of your donated dollars towards poverty reduction.
How much will my donation accomplish?
With BAOBAB STRONG, even small donations can have a very significant impact on improving the lives of people living in poverty. Every dollar counts!
Example Costs:
- $1 – a notebook and pencils for a school child
- $2 – basic food for one family, per day
- $6 – full set of inoculations for one child, per clinic visit
- $20 – grade school uniform
- $55 – a two-seater school desk
- $60 – two goats for a small farm
- $400 – outreach nurse salary for one month
- $700 – solar panels for class room lights & power
- $3000 – cement floor for one class room
- $5000 – basic food for one month for a 100 family village
- $10000 – water well & pump
- $15000 – one 3-bedroom teachers quarters
- $30000 – one school building with 2 non-furnished class rooms
How can I automatically make a monthly donation?
BAOBAB STRONG uses PayPal for your automatically recurring monthly donations. You will need a free PayPal account for recurring donations. If you don’t already have one, it is easy to sign up while making your first monthly donation to BAOBAB STRONG. PayPal will lead you thru the steps. But to eliminate any confusion, here are all the details:
- On any BaobabStrong.org web page, click the red “DONATE NOW” button to go to the “MAKE YOUR DONATION” page. Then click the yellow “Donate” button that is inside the “Easy Online Payment” box. PayPal will now lead you through the remaining steps. In some cases, you might first be lead thru PayPal’s “Security Challenge” verification.
- The “Donate to Baobab Strong” form will be shown, where you can enter a monthly donation amount. There is a $1.00 minimum. Click the “Make this a monthly donation” check box to enable recurring donations.
- If you already have a PayPal account, you may use the “Donate with PayPal” button to log in to your PayPal account.
Otherwise, if you do not yet have a PayPal account, click the “Donate with a Debit or Credit Card” button. This opens a page allowing you to “Continue” to supply your payment information and sign up for your free PayPal account. A donation form is displayed, where you can choose if the monthly donation uses your Debit or Credit Card. You will need to supply your email address and create a password for your new PayPal account. - Click the blue “Donate” button near the page bottom. That will submit your first donation amount to BAOBAB STRONG today. And on approximately this same day each month, the same size donation will automatically be made to BAOBAB STRONG from your PayPal account.
You can change or cancel a recurring donation anytime in your PayPal account settings by logging into PayPal.com with your email address and PayPal password.
Are donations to BAOBAB STRONG tax deductible?
Yes! We have 501(c)3 tax deductible status in the USA. You can claim 100% of your BAOBAB STRONG monetary donations as tax deductible on your income taxes
Can I visit one of your current project locations?
Yes, possibly! Please contact us with your request, and we’ll determine if something can be arranged.
